Debbie Evans joined Debbie Travis for an Italian Designer’s Retreat

WHISTLER, BC, CANADA. September 1, 2009 – President of Whistler Interior Design, Debbie Evans joined beloved home decorating icon Debbie Travis, and eleven other like-minded woman for a Tuscan get away from June 25th-July 5th.

The world-renowned Interior Designer is the host of the popular television series Debbie Travis’ The Painted House, which has aired in more than 80 countries around the world, Debbie Travis’ Facelift and From the Ground Up. She is also the author of eight best selling books and an internationally syndicated newspaper column.

The ladies stayed in a villa built around an 11th century clock tower south of Siena and West of Cortona. Travis provided excursions for the women including tours of Italy including Montepulciano, Montefollonico and Pienza. The women enjoyed various winery tours, spa retreats at Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort which is set in the Val d'Orcia, yoga with Maria who is a life coach and yoga instructor with the Biggest Looser, and relaxing by the salt water pool under the Tuscan sun.
They also wined and dined with a few celebrities. A private tour of Castello di Brolio and a surprise visit with Barone Francesco Ricasoli who is like royalty in Tuscany and is the CEO of Castello di Brolio, a wine estate also referred popularly as Barone Ricasoli, the 12th century estate located in Gaiole in Chianti, between Florence and Siena. Jill Eckenberry and Michael Tucker of LA Law have a place in Umbra and joined everyone for Dinner and breakfast sharing fascinating stories of their experiences in acting and their move to Tuscany. A wine tasting and candle lit dinner at La Bandita with John Voigtmann. John left his position as Vice President of International Marketing at Sony BMG Entertainment in New York to move to Tuscany with his wife to start a retreat in the Val d’Orcia’s. La Bandita was named a UNESCO Heritage site in 2004, the Val d’Orcia is the quintessential, unspoiled Tuscany of golden pastures, cypress trees and walled hill towns where "The English Patient", parts of “Gladiator" and "Under the Tuscan Sun" were filmed.

Debbie Evans described the trip as an unforgettable experience and came back relaxed and inspired.
