Foldability to Unveil Gorgeous Origami Pendant Lamps at Designjunction 2013

The simple technique of folding paper can have surprisingly complex and mesmerizing results – especially when combined with light. These beautiful hand-made origami lighting fixtures designed by multi-disciplinary design studio Foldability range from relatively simple lamps to larger, intricately patterned pendant lights. The team is showcasing their awesome work at Designjunction during this year’s London Design Festival.

Foldability works with origami to make products, packaging, graphics, and lighting fixtures.

All of their lamps from Sonobe and Foldability Collections were made out of modular segments.

Paper segments are hand-folded using a traditional folding technique.

The shades are fabricated in either East London or Glasgow, where the designer graduated from the Glasgow School of Art.
