Copper Beech Farm is the most expensive home in America

Although it seems to be a record that’s broken monthly, we have, at the moment, a new champion: at $190 million, Copper Beech Farm, in the monied pastures of Greenwich, Connecticut, is the most expensive home ever listed in the United States. (Photos courtesy of christiesrealestate.com.)

ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS to be a record that’s broken monthly, we have, at the moment, a new champion: at $190 million, Copper Beech Farm, in the monied pastures of Greenwich, Connecticut, is the most expensive home ever listed in the United States. Click on for an intimate tour of its interior and grounds.

After navigating the 1800 foot driveway that winds through a wood, you arrive at the stone towers bracketing the front door and the upstairs balcony.

Once inside the most expensive home in America, don’t expect it to be the biggest. Copper Beech boasts just over 13,000 square feet.

The property for which it’s named, of course, is the Palace of Versailles, built by Louis XIV in the 18th century. It’s interior measures some 525,000 square feet.
