Greater Vancouver Home Builders' Association's Ovation Awards finalists named

The finalists have been named in the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association’s third annual Ovation Awards, with renovation contractor Kenorah Construction & Design and home builder ParkLane Homes earning the greatest number of nods — 15 and 13, respectively.

The awards recognize excellence in new home and renovation design, construction, accessibility, sustainability, affordability, energy efficiency and heritage restoration.

Other companies named in multiple categories include My House Design/Build Team, named a finalist in nine categories, Intermind Design in eight, Portrait Homes in seven, and G. Wilson Construction in six.

“Last year, Vancouver-area homeowners spent nearly $4 billion on home renovation, and builders started construction on 17,867 new homes,” said GVHBA president Peter Simpson in a prepared news release.

Finalists were chosen in 41 categories by judges who are award-winning builders, renovators and designers from the Okanagan, Vancouver Island, Whistler and Seattle.

FortisBC is the presenting sponsor of the event, while the provincial Homeowner Protection Office, branch of BC Housing, is the patron sponsor.

Winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony on April 28 in Vancouver.
