That distinction has blurred as more manufacturers offer premium features even on low-end lines. A little research beforehand can save you time at the store and the thousands you can lose on less-than-stellar cabinets. Start by checking online manufacturer and retail sites and catalogs and taking a good look at store displays; you'll be able to tell the quality cabinets from the polished pretenders once you know where to look. Pricing Various Kitchen Suppliers 

Make sure you have drawings completed with all of the details and specs needed to compare quotes. I have met with quite a few clients over the years that have said they can get better pricing only to find when they got the kitchen it wasn't exactly what they wanted. 

Compare apples to apples. 

Check the warranty and how long the company has been in business. 

Check with the Better Business Bureau. 

Get your quotes in writing so that you know exactly what you are getting. 

Go see a finished kitchen install to see what the finished product looks like. 

Ask for references.
