Special Guest Blog Post: Winter Kitchen

Hello! I'm Jessica, a writer for Arcadian Lighting, a website and blog featuring an amazing selection of lighting fixtures and daily interior design inspirations. I'm delighted to be guest posting for Debbie today because I'm going to be sharing some kitchens that embrace the beauty of winter. The kitchen really is the heart of any home, and when the colder, darker months are upon us, there's no better time to preserve the warmth and brightness of the holidays.

The fireplace in this kitchen is a true luxury during the winter, but subtle decorations add even more warmth to the scene. Small colorful wreaths hang outside the windows, invitingly, and a lush garland of perenial branches and leaves adorn the mantle. The row of matching pendant lights is a cool modern way to create kitchen island lighting.

Hanging a several pine cone ornaments like this one throughout your kitchen will add, not only a charming winter feel, but a lovely, fresh pine scent.

A string of sparkling ornaments will surely brighten your kitchen window during the darker months of winter. Fresh greenery and candy canes add an extra bit of warmth and color.

I love an all-white kitchen any time of year, but a beautiful, simple wreath above the stove adds a pop of color and texture. Since wreaths are traditionally a simple of celebration and strength, it's an especially fitting decoration during the winter.

Stringing garland around doorframes is a fun and festive way to make your kitchen more inviting. A few scattered candles and a warm fire are lovely, too.

The bountiful natural decorations in this kitchen make spending time indoors during the winter even more enjoyable and bright. Using ceiling lights throughout the kitchen provide excellent lighting for such colorful decorations.

The garland around this kitchen doorframe also serves as a wonderful place to hang holiday cards throughout winter. I love the petite ornaments scattered throughout, and the gingerbread house in the distance.

I love this blue winter kitchen. The mini snow-covered trees lining the windowsill are a lovely accent, as are the blue and white ornaments on the dish towels. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
